Colleen Hoover does it again. This book had me not wanting to put it down. The ups and downs had my heart so happy and then breaking with every chapter.
I really liked how we learnt about Lily's past with Atlas by reading her journal entry's rather then jumping back in time. It was also fun that she was writing to Ellen Degeneres.
The character development was very well done considering how fast of a read this was. Especially Lily's, I could easily picture her as a quiet almost lonely teenager and then she blossoms (see what I did there 😉) into a very strong independent adult.
I could also very easily understand how she was feeling even though I've never experienced a relationship like that. She made you understand why maybe not everyone easily walks away from an abusing relationship by learning about her parents and then hers, it really makes you think and understand that every relationship is different. Just because someone does something bad doesn't mean they're a bad person.
The ending of this book was everything I could have hoped for and left me wanting more. Luckily I'm reading It Starts With Us now!
"You can stop swimming now, Lily. We finally reached the shore"
